Security Camera Systems - Video Surveillance Systems

Security Camera Systems, Video Surveillance Systems or CCTV Systems are all common names used for electronic systems comprised of security cameras, video recorders and other equipment used in viewing and recording events in facilities and more. The first security camera systems were comprised of a limited variety of equipment and used solely for the purpose of security in high priority applications such as government buildings, banks and casinos. These security camera systems were very basic and costly, and often produced less than beneficial evidence. Today, Security camera systems and video surveillance in general has improved to such a great extent that the systems are used for a wide variety of applications including medical imagery, robotics, traffic control, marketing, industrial equipment, production line monitoring and more.

The main types of security camera systems are:

  • Analog systems, which use analog VHS recorders and analog cameras. These were the first types of security CCTV systems, and are the most limited in ability but can be upgraded.
  • Digital video surveillance systems, which use Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) and primarily digital cameras to record to hard drives. These surveillance systems offer remote viewing as well as many other features, and are the main type in use today.
  • Network Security Camera Systems (IP Video Surveillance Systems) are the newest breed of surveillance system, which offers even more versatility through the use of network security cameras and IP cameras.

A variety of security camera systems are available through T & J Electronic Systems, Inc. We provide camera systems for small to large, single to multi site, and basic to special applications. Systems' video transmit designs include coaxial, CAT5E / CAT 6, fiber optic and wireless.
